Pedey, Red Sox, $100 Million Extension

Red Sox Second Baseman Dustin Pedroia signs a huge new deal
Dustin Pedroia and the Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms on a deal that will pay the star second baseman $110 Million over eight years. This deal makes Dustin Pedroia the highest paid second baseman in Major League history, at least until Robinson Cano gets his insane new deal that should wind up just around the $200 Million mark. The Red Sox have locked up Pedroia, likely for the rest of his MLB career. It just would not be right to see this guy in any other uniform.

Dustin Pedroia is everything that is right about the game of baseball today. A Cal Ripken type player, Pedroia goes out every night and produces. Dustin is a stud, a player who can flash the leather, hit for high average, drive in runs, and lead a team in the locker room. Pedroia will be a star for years to come. Already in Dustin's short career, he has won AL Rookie of the Year in 2007, AL MVP in 2008, a gold glove, been named a four-time All-Star, and he has also won a World Series.

Pedroia is a hitting machine. In his seven-year career, he has accounted for 1,147 hits, and 467 RBI's. Pedroia has a career average of .303, and he rarely strikes out, averaging less than 50 strikeouts per year. Who wouldn't want a player like this one their favorite team? Pedroia is an awesome player, and also a very good man. His 5' 8", 165 frame, a motor thats always running, and strong swing, makes him one of the most exciting players in all of baseball, and someone who is very hard to root against.

Boston has made a huge investment for the future of this team, and if Pedroia can continue to produce, he will make many more All-Star appearances, and go down as one of the most love able, and greatest players to ever wear a Boston uniform, and that puts him in great company. Someday, a number 15 will hang from the rafters at Fenway Park.
